 Well, how naïve, how totally and completely unrealistic if we are vainly searching for the classic fairy-tale ending and they lived “happily ever after.” But success is a progressive realization of worthwhile, predetermined personal goals and a very different thing from the Mother Goose concept of perpetual bliss.

 Success in everybody’s life requires conflict, problems, challenges, road blocks and occasional failure in order that the reached goal may be satisfying and rewarding and self-fulfilling. Sometimes it is the knowledge of the bitter taste of defeat that makes winning so exhilarating. It is overcoming, a genuine test of courage, strength, ability, endurance, perseverance and belief that strengthens us and makes us proud of our accomplishments.

 Sometimes we are prone to see and hear and read about successful people without ever realizing that they first had to overcome adversity to earn what they have. The lives of most famous people bear the scars of obstacles and conflicts and struggles.

 Successful people have earned their spot in life, just as you must earn yours. So if you are thinking of all the obstacles and roadblocks that you have and thinking that other people did not have them, erase this from your mind. It is not true. They, too have overcome insurmountable obstacles to attain the success that they enjoy today.

 What you need to run an Affiliate Marketing Business from home:

Banking

Many will tell you the first thing that you need to do is to open a separate bank account for your business. I don’t agree with that. Why go through the cost and time to open a business checking account when you aren’t even sure that this is the business for you? There is nothing wrong with running your first couple of campaigns though your personal checking account as long as you keep accurate records of what is what. You are going to need them for the IRS anyway. You will be operating as a “Sole Proprietor” Remember, the practice of mixing your personal funds and business funds is a dangerous one. You will not have control over you business and personal finances unless you keep accurate records. Once you are confident in the success of your home based business, establishing separate bank accounts for your business and  personal use will make money management less stressful.

 Record Keeping
Since you will be working from home, separate all the expenses that are related to your business from home expenses. What I do is rent space and utilities from myself based on a percentage of space I use my house. When I started I also allowed a certain percentage of my computer, internet and phone usage as a business expense, now those things are totally separate. As I mentioned earlier, accurate records are important. Home based businesses are a red flag to the IRS.

Advertising

Making an advertising budget can be easy. There are basic steps it takes to drive traffic to your Affiliate Marketing Business. You can start with a very low budget. You can set up a free blog in your niche using Word Press. You can drive people to your blog using social networking and free classified advertising such as CraigsList. As you grow your Affiliate Marketing Business through your website or blog you will be able to invest money into your advertising budget and use Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising.

Salary

In the beginning you won’t have an income from your business, but as you become successful you will be able to start drawing a salary. Set a certain amount. By setting aside a certain amount of money every month as a salary is that you will be able to determine if you are making enough money to pay all your business expenses and pay yourself for your efforts. A big advantage to this is it will tell you if you are doing well enough to quit your J.O.B. (an acronym for Just Over Broke) Make sure that you only draw-out the exact amount of money from the business for your salary. You may find your business is doing well and you have plenty of money in your business account, don’t be tempted to draw more than you set up. Keep the money in the business account for future use. You will want this money for expansion of your home business to live the lifestyle the Affiliate Marketing Business can provide.

However, bonuses can be very helpful in spurring you on to greater heights. Just don’t over do it and drain your account.

 Taxes

All earnings, including affiliate commissions are going to be taxed. How much money is going to be taxed on your Affiliate Marketing Business commissions is up to you. You will be operating a home based business, what type of deductions will you be able to take? To familiarize yourself, go to IRS.gov and pull up form 1040 (Schedule C) instructions and form. I would also suggest that you should talk to an accountant who has Home Based Business clients. When someone employs you, your taxes are taken out of your pay. At the end of the year and all you have to do is to file. With a home based Affiliate Marketing Business you are the one who is in charge of doing taxes. Your life will be a whole lot easier if you set up a separate account for taxes and put away 30% of everything you receive in a high interest bearing account. You will not only be prepared to pay at the end of the year, but you will also be making money on the money you have to pay the IRS.

So, the best thing that you can do is to visit someone who does this for a living. But make sure that it is someone who deals with home business owners on a regular basis, so that you can be sure you know what is going on and they do, too. Another good option would be to find an accountant that comes well recommended.

The best thing that you can do is to find someone you trust to help you with your taxes, but never go into the situation without knowing what you are doing. Take a look at some tax courses and make sure that you are aware of what kinds of taxes you should be filing, and when you should be filing them. This is something that is very important for you to do because you want to be sure that you are able to get as much money back as you can and that you aren’t paying too much. Many times owners of home based Affiliate Marketing Businesses overpay because they simply do not know what they are doing, and you have to be sure that this isn’t going to happen to you.

Internet Affiliate Marketing is quickly becoming one of the most popular businesses around.  In this business, you have no bosses to order you around, other people’s deadlines to meet and no busy work do to. You just need to have the proper tools to succeed in this business, and it will get what you your heart’s ultimate desires.

What tools do you need to be able to succeed in Internet Affiliate Marketing? What must one have within them to be able to be successful in this industry? There is a lot of competition in Internet Affiliate Marketing.  You must be equipped with just the right stuff necessary to move forward. Five things one must possess if they want to achieve success in this business. This list is not all inclusive, but these five things are a must to be able to stand out among the rest.

         1) Although you can be successful in building an Internet Affiliate Marketing quicker than most businesses, you must be willing to invest time and effort even if direct results do not come immediately. Just keep in mind that basic business skills are transferable. Learning the tricks of the trade, as in any business is very important. One’s willingness to learn those tricks will give you a far better advantage in any business than you could ever imagine.    

4) A positive attitude and belief in yourself. Negative attitudes from those around you and from yourself should not be allowed to discourage you or what you are trying to accomplish in the Internet Affiliate Marketing Business. Just keep in mind that you are doing what you have to do in order to make life better for yourself and for everyone you care about. Remember, no one should negatively influence your attitude toward your business, because once in it, you must be the master of it.
  

   5) Success in the Internet Affiliate Marketing Business depends also on your self-determination. You must have enough belief in yourself to have the ability to push ahead, and to stay the course, even those around you are nay-sayers.  Every successful entrepreneur must possess a never say die quality and the ability to self-motivate oneself.  This ability will actually make your Home Based Internet Affiliate  a success.

Remember, and always keep in mind: Success in a Home Based Business such as Internet Affiliate Marketing depends on you being diverse, adaptable and persistent.

Making money online used to required products to sell, having your own website, marketing sense. But newer players have joined the game, creating programs called Affiliate Marketing. Large companies such as Dell, Geico, DIRECTV, Discovery Channel, Home Depot, American Express, Wal-Mart, and thousands of other companies, large and small, set up advertising networks, called affiliates, that employ the talents of home-based entrepreneurs through exciting and lucrative affiliate programs that pay you without becoming an expert web designer.

Searching for the right home-based business opportunity is one of the things that you should be able to do with little Internet experience. Remember to look for a home-based business that pays on a regular basis, preferably through a third party such as ClickBank or PayPal. One that does not involve hard-selling of your own products, and does not necessarily require a website.  However, blogs allow you to post content rich articles to drive traffic to your site. Also, look for one that gives the best return on your investment of time and a minimum of 25% commission, although some pay 50%.

Being your own boss with your own home-based business means having freedom from your corporate office. The flexibility of a home based business will suit your needs and budget. And you can work from anywhere in the world there is an Internet connection!

Several reasons this is the best time for an Internet Home Businesses are; gas prices are high, and keep going up. More and more people are searching the web for products. It is cheaper to pay some shipping costs than to drive around town looking for a specific product. People have less disposable income, and will have less as government keeps needing more and more money and taxes keep going up.

With a bricks and mortar business you are limited to customers within your geographical location. You don’t have access to the world. With an Internet Marketing Business you can change product or services with a few keystrokes, no stagnant inventory to sell off at a loss. No being stuck with rent payments on an empty storefront.

Last year over $700 billion was spent over the Internet. Why not get your share? Consider it your stimulus package.

It is almost impossible to collect all information on Affiliate merchants. You certainly can’t investigate them thoroughly. Hence, you will never be able to predict your successes or failures.

How to you deal with this? Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Pick a couple of the best quality products to promote. However, you should do some research to reduce risk.

How do you pick the good from the bad? Here are some factors that influence the dependability of an affiliate program. The more of these factors that are present in a certain program, the more reasons you get to sign up to that affiliate program.

1. Quality products.  

I would even suggest purchasing their products so you know what you are reviewing. You can’t give a good review of something you are not proud of

2. Good commissions.  

Normally, you should look for merchants that offer 25% to 50% commissions.

 3. Good Affiliate Sites.

Does the back office supply you with enough promotional material? I.E. banners, popups, articles

4. Free To Join.

No reason to pay. If they want you to pay to join them, they are only interested in making money off you joining their program. Usually don’t offer much in support.

5. Long-Term Cookies.

Cookies lock your customer to the merchant’s  site. This way, if your customer returns to the merchant’s site months later, you will get credit for the sale. I prefer merchants that keep the cookies indefinitely.

 6. Support System.

Merchants should train their affiliates through newsletters and training calls .You should also be able to see your real-time stats and earnings. You should receive an email whenever a sale is made.

7. Payments

Monthly payments with realistic minimum to you. Look for merchants that pay through a third party.  Third parties collect the payment and pay the merchant and you. If a merchant is having financial problems & they collect the money, you may not get paid.

8. Tiered Commissions.

Tiered commissions is another way of saying Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing. Not all merchants will offer this. However, some merchants give you commissions on your referral sales. What this means is, if you refer someone and they become an affiliate, you can earn commissions every time they make a sale.
